Creswick

Take a town walking tour of Creswick, 18 kilometres north of Ballarat, and discover gold all over again in the form of its historic buildings and old goldmining sites. Established in 1851, Creswick was bursting at the seams by 1854 when 25,000 prospectors had flocked there. Today 3000 people call Creswick home.

Some of the amazing accommodation available in Creswick include the award winning Novotel Forest Resort which has a championshop golf course and also the Creswick Calembeen Lake Caravan Park.

Take the Creswick Miners' Walk, visit Creswick Regional Park and the Creswick Woollen Mills, lose yourself at The Tangled Maze, and don't miss St George's Lake, originally created to provide water for gold sluicing and now a tree-fringed oasis for swimming and fishing.

If you want to travel a little further you can enjoy a majestic ride on the Daylesford Spa Country Railway.
