Blampied
Blampied
A quaint hamlet set in rolling countryside on the
Ballarat-Daylesford Road, 35 kilometres northeast of Ballarat. Its
1865 Swiss Mountain Hotel is said to be Victoria's oldest
continually licensed hotel. The walls of this atmospheric pub are
adorned with historic photos, one of which, taken around 1910,
shows that the hotel has barely altered since horse and cart
lumbered past on their way from Daylesford to Ballarat.
