Music line-up announced for new look Summer Sundays series

Ella Hooper, Clare Bowditch and Ross Wilson will headline Ballarat's COVID-safe edition of the annual live music series Summer Sundays.

Over three weekends in January, Summer Sundays will be live streamed from the city’s three major tourist attractions – Sovereign Hill, Ballarat Wildlife Park and Kryal Castle.

Moving the event from its normal home at the Ballarat Botanical Gardens allows the artists to perform in a controlled COVID-safe environment.

Presented by the City of Ballarat, the 2021 Summer Sundays line-up is as follows:

Sunday 10 January at Sovereign Hill (2.30pm-5pm)

  • Clare Bowditch
  • C.W. Stoneking
  • Juan Alban

Sunday 17 January at the Ballarat Wildlife Park (2.30pm-5pm)

  • Ella Hooper
  • Hayley Mary
  • Connor Toomey

Sunday 24 January at Kryal Castle (2.30pm-5pm)

  • Ross Wilson Trio
  • Benny Walker
  • Candi Wade

"We're delighted to partner with the City of Ballarat to host Summer Sundays on 10 January," Sovereign Hill's Head of Marketing & Design Mark Hemetsberger said.

"While Summer Sundays and many other activities look and feel different this year, we're energised by embracing the rebellious spirit and innovative vision of locals that founded Sovereign Hill as a not-for-profit organisation 50 years ago."

The three concerts will be live streamed via the Summer Sundays Facebook page.
