Adjacent to the Bostock Reservoir, the small Ballan Mineral Reserve has spring water comparable to that of Hepburn Springs. Access is via a steep path and vehicle access is limited. For those willing to find their way down the slope, they will be treated to views of the river valley lying close to the riverbed.
The indigenous sculpture Brim Brim (the Wadawurrung word for spring waters), reconnects the two mineral springs sites at Spargo Creek and Ballan with the Moorabool River and broader landscapes of the area and acknowledges the Indigenous connection to the sites. The sculptural installations consist of two interconnected works made from 120 year old locally sourced red gum, that reflect the ecological and cultural values of the mineral springs and the Moorabool River.
