The Ballarat Cycle Classic is more than just an event - it’s a celebration of community, hope, and determination. Now in its 18th year, this much-loved annual event unites people of all ages and abilities to support the Fiona Elsey Cancer Research Institute (FECRI), Australia’s only regional cancer research centre.

Every dollar raised goes directly to FECRI, funding groundbreaking research into better treatments and cures for cancers that affect families everywhere. With no government funding, the Institute relies entirely on the generosity of people like you to continue its vital work.

The Cycle Classic offers something for everyone - whether it’s taking on a scenic road ride, tackling the thrilling mountain bike trails, strolling with your furry friend in the Petstock Walk, or simply enjoying the festive atmosphere at Lake Wendouree.

This year, they’re celebrating 18 amazing years with new events, including the Eclipse Ford Triple Lake Birthday Loop, and timeless favourites like the SPUD100. It’s a weekend of fun, fitness, and fundraising where every step or pedal stroke helps make a difference.

Join in and be part of something bigger - together, you can create a brighter future in the fight against cancer.

Acknowledgement of Country

Across Victoria’s Midwest, we acknowledge that we travel across the ancient landscapes of many First Peoples communities. These lands have been nurtured and cared for over tens of thousands of years and we respect the work of Traditional Custodians for their ongoing care and protection.

We recognise the past injustices against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in this country. As our knowledge grows, we hope that we can learn from their resilience and creativity that has guided them for over 60,000 years. As we invite people to visit and explore Victoria’s Midwest, we ask that alongside us, you also grow to respect the stories, living culture and connection to Country of the Ancestors and Elders of our First Peoples.

©️ 2025 Visit Ballarat. This initiative is funded by the City of Ballarat and Tourism Midwest Victoria.
