The Cyril Callister Museum will proudly launch the inaugural Beaufort Summer Fest in January—a vibrant new celebration of Australia, its culture and its community. Thanks to the generous funding from the National Australia Day Council the event is free for the community and is in association with the Central Highlands Grower’s and Producers event Forage and Feast.
Heading up the two live cooking demonstrations is Chef Cat Clarke, who promises to deliver an exquisite tasting menu with a bush tucker twist! Jenna Oldaker (of Murrup Art), a Wadawurrung Traditional Owner, is hosting an art workshop for youth and Wadawurrung Nursey is coming along to showcase local Australian bush tucker plants. There will also be Vegemite playdough workshops, Paint With Vegemite workshops, facepainting and Vegemite Portrait sittings by Pyrenees artist – Dawn Lim.
The festival will also feature local producers, among them Mrs. Baker’s Stillhouse, Kittelty’s Cakes, and Red Duck Brewery. A variety of food trucks baked goods by CWA Beaufort and the toe-tapping sounds of Mojave Echo and Mitchell Morrison will round off the afternoon.
Don't miss out on this first time, local and free community event!
