Kryal Castle, Australia’s only medieval adventure park, is hosting its annual Festival of Magic! Open every day of the long weekend, experience a weekend full of spells, sorcery, and all things mystical, mythical, and magnificent. Dust off your wizarding robes and don your finest witches' hat as you get ready for the action, including:

Live magic performances: See illusions from magicians that will leave you spellbound.

Spell casting: Learn the art of spell casting and discover which Wizarding Guild you belong to.

Wand making: Design and create your very own wand—the first step to mastering magic.

Dragon meet and greet: Kryal Castle’s dragon trainer will be in the arena with two resident dragons for you to meet, and they love pats!

Championship joust: Watch as knights in steel armour ride warhorses, charging and striking with lances.

Plus, enjoy medieval favourites like potion making, archery, axe throwing, and Knight School.

Did you know Kryal Castle has on-site accommodation? Extend the magic by staying within the Castle walls or in the new cabins and tiny homes. Kryal Castle is just outside Ballarat.

Acknowledgement of Country

Across Victoria’s Midwest, we acknowledge that we travel across the ancient landscapes of many First Peoples communities. These lands have been nurtured and cared for over tens of thousands of years and we respect the work of Traditional Custodians for their ongoing care and protection.

We recognise the past injustices against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in this country. As our knowledge grows, we hope that we can learn from their resilience and creativity that has guided them for over 60,000 years. As we invite people to visit and explore Victoria’s Midwest, we ask that alongside us, you also grow to respect the stories, living culture and connection to Country of the Ancestors and Elders of our First Peoples.

©️ 2025 Visit Ballarat. This initiative is funded by the City of Ballarat and Tourism Midwest Victoria.
