Step back in time as the Victorian Medieval Festival returns to Kryal Castle on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 November, offering an action-packed weekend that brings medieval history to life for all ages.
The excitement begins with a spectacular Birds of Prey show, where majestic creatures demonstrate their incredible speed and skill. The thrill builds with ground-shaking massed battles featuring fierce, free-for-all combat, and culminates in Australia’s largest joust, where up to 10 jousters compete for the coveted cup in a display of bravery and skill. And don’t miss the spectacular moment when the mighty trebuchet, a medieval catapult, is fired!
Throughout the day, guests can wander through the bustling mini medieval village and meet skilled artisans peddling historic wares from clothing to fine jewels, or engage in interactive demonstrations with blacksmiths, carpenters, and other craftsmen. Live performances from medieval minstrels will transport visitors to another time, while a pint of mead provides the perfect way to relax after exploring the Castle grounds.
For younger visitors, there’s plenty of medieval fun and hands-on learning. Enrol them in Knight School to master the skills of knighthood, guide them through the dragon’s labyrinth, or let them try archery and axe-throwing.
As evening approaches, the festivities continue with live entertainment and merriment at the tavern, capping off a magical day of medieval adventure for the whole family.
