As part of the Ballarat Heritage Festival, the Ballarat Woodworkers Guild Inc. invites you to experience the beauty, skill, and community spirit behind the art of woodcraft. This special event, hosted at the Guild's workshop at the Ballarat Airport, celebrates traditional craftsmanship and the timeless appeal of working with wood.

Throughout the day, talented Guild members will showcase their expertise with live demonstrations of specialist woodworking machinery and techniques. From expert woodturning to precision scroll sawing, visitors will gain insight into the tools, skills, and creativity that bring wood to life.

Inside the Guild hall, a stunning display of handcrafted woodwork will be on show — ranging from furniture and toys to decorative and functional pieces. Members will be on hand to share their knowledge, answer your questions, and chat about the inspiration and techniques behind their work.

Many of the items on display will also be available for purchase, offering a unique opportunity to take home a piece of locally made craftsmanship. Whether you're a seasoned woodworker, an admirer of fine craftsmanship, or simply curious, this event promises a warm welcome and a fascinating glimpse into the world of woodworking.

Come celebrate heritage, creativity, and community with the Ballarat Woodworkers Guild.

Acknowledgement of Country

Across Victoria’s Midwest, we acknowledge that we travel across the ancient landscapes of many First Peoples communities. These lands have been nurtured and cared for over tens of thousands of years and we respect the work of Traditional Custodians for their ongoing care and protection.

We recognise the past injustices against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in this country. As our knowledge grows, we hope that we can learn from their resilience and creativity that has guided them for over 60,000 years. As we invite people to visit and explore Victoria’s Midwest, we ask that alongside us, you also grow to respect the stories, living culture and connection to Country of the Ancestors and Elders of our First Peoples.
