Discover the magic of yarn and craft at GOR Woollen Mill's Open Day!

Join them for a day filled with creativity and inspiration. In addition to GOR Woollen Mill yarns (including a new release 5 ply as well as de-stash yarns) explore a variety of yarns and accessories from Tarndie, Wool Witchery, Wyndara Black Sheep and Crystal Cat Stitchery!

Meet best-selling author Shelley Husband and learn from the talented Susanna from Sanna and Co, who will not only showcase her beautiful patterns but also demonstrate techniques like brioche and fisherman's rib.

Witness the art of yarn production firsthand with their rolling mill tours (paddock to product), and be amazed by live demonstrations of hand spinning, wind wheel spinning, weaving, and sock making.

For a delicious treat, enjoy a sausage sizzle provided by the local Burrumbeet Hall, and browse fresh, locally sourced products from Sunnybank Farm as well as some unique prints from local artist, Happy World Creations.

Don't miss this opportunity to connect with fellow crafters, discover new techniques, and indulge in your passion for yarn and creativity!

Acknowledgement of Country

Across Victoria’s Midwest, we acknowledge that we travel across the ancient landscapes of many First Peoples communities. These lands have been nurtured and cared for over tens of thousands of years and we respect the work of Traditional Custodians for their ongoing care and protection.

We recognise the past injustices against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in this country. As our knowledge grows, we hope that we can learn from their resilience and creativity that has guided them for over 60,000 years. As we invite people to visit and explore Victoria’s Midwest, we ask that alongside us, you also grow to respect the stories, living culture and connection to Country of the Ancestors and Elders of our First Peoples.

©️ 2024 Visit Ballarat. This initiative is funded by the City of Ballarat and Tourism Midwest Victoria.
